This is going to be a battery powered pen that uses lasers to guide the user's writing. Its feedback can range from generating margins that let the user draw or write better. At the highest level of implementation, it can be constructed to give predictive texts like the ones mobile phones give.
A laser is a device that generates an intense beam of coherent monochromatic light. Since the light from lasers does not disperse with distance like the light from other sources, they are usually used in drilling, cutting, alignment and guidance. The pen will use lasers to guide the user visually while vibrations and a slight variation of the distribution of the weight of the pen can be used to generate haptic instructions and feedback. The variation of the pen's weight can be achieved by a system of motors that rotate small weights inside the pen. The pen will have a retractable ball so that it can be set to stop writing the moment the user makes a mistake, this feature can be very useful when drawing.
The control system for the lasers will use a gyroscope to sense the pen's position so that the orientation of the laser beams is unchanged when the pen moves.
The pen's predictions can be shown in different colors or the suggested texts can be displayed radially with the pen's laser beams.
Another way to implement this idea is to use the pen with smart glasses so that the visual signals are displayed on the inside of the glasses while the other feedback and guidance systems remain as stated in the earlier case.
The pen will have external batteries that are connected to the pen by a thin wire so that the weight of its batteries does not have a negative effect on the pen's handling.
