A solution for when you don't have the time to get rid of clutter.
To sell stuff online, you have to fill out forms, look up what your stuff is worth, take photos, and come up with descriptions, for each item you want to sell. This is enough to trigger procrastination in many people. With this solution, someone else does it for you for a fee.
Have someone help you declutter your home and recover maximal value for the stuff you no longer need.
Why not one of the alternatives?
There are plenty of solutions out there that solve this problem in different ways. Garage sales, services that offer to buy all your clutter at low prices, etc. Something that all those solutions have in common is - the owner gets the lowest value for their stuff because the focus is on urgency of sale rather than recovering the value. With this idea, the focus is on getting the owner maximum value with someone else doing the necessary work to get things going. This basically pushes the owner over the procrastination mountain.
Ideally, this service would be done by a friend with enough free time on their hands. Alternatively, it could also be provided by freelancers or agencies.
Someone comes to your home and goes with you through everything you don't need anymore. You point out all the items you wish to get rid of and they document them by taking photos and writing down whatever info you can provide. If they see additional items that should be easy to sell, they ask you whether you want to get rid of those too (just in case).
In the following days they perform research to determine the right prices and then list all your stuff on local classified ad platforms, 2nd hand marketplaces, etc.
You can either opt to talk to potential customers yourself or the service provider can answer the calls. You can opt to meet potential buyers yourself or have the service provider pick up the items at your place and show/sell it to them.
The service provider can be paid in any of the following ways:
Per listed item, if they just post everything online and you do all the selling
Per hour of time spent doing this for you
Commission from every item sold(if they do the selling
If you want to sell yourself, the service provider can post the items under your online account(s), listing your contact info. That way you retain control and can keep re-listing the expired classifieds until the items are eventually sold.
