Why?
Often times, when we view videos of struggling artist/engineers/singers, anyone who want to excel in their passion and field, we are encouraged to donate and help them succeed. Other times, people might be raising funds simply to cure their loved ones, be it pets, family members or friends. However, it can be hard for the audience to find an avenue that allows direct donation that is also convienient without requiring any signups. Furthermore, not everyone wants to go through the hassle of creating a kickstarter account. For example, I recently watched a video on tiktok where a pet owner who was raising funds for their critically ill pet requests audiences watching the video to keep replaying and commenting, so as to increase the revenue for that particular video.
Solution
An app or phone/browser extension of sorts that allows users to link their bank account to their social account. The process should be straightforward, concise and most importantly, be able to link with most social apps eg TikTok, Instagram, Facebook. While I know it is not that simple, the idea is that these apps should be able to incoporate the extension be it a link, or button that allows users to directly donate to other users as long as both parties have the extension or app installed. To facilitate this idea, platforms like TikTok can make it compulsory for users to sign up for this extension at the start of account creation so that users do not have to worry as to whether the other party is using it. Users who already have the social media platform installed but do not have the extension will be prompted to do so as an update.
However, I would imagine that privacy concerns may arise and it is generally not that easy to do away with all the necessary procedures in transferring money. Therefore, other monetary values can be used too, such as crypto coins without needing private details such as bank account numbers.

I like the idea and support what you proposed in the last paragraph - cryptocurrency. It's anonymous, doesn't require verifications from the bank, and can be utilized for donations easily. I already saw that many people have their BTC or ETH wallet addresses written in their bio or profile descriptions. Minus is that cryptocurrencies are not supported in every country, so people could be accused of breaking their local laws and sued accordingly.

J. Nikola I see, yeap that is true especially for countries that ban cryptocurrencies. Perhaps other alternatives have to be sought after for these countries, be it normal bank transfer or via other means.

Darko Savic Ahh I didn't know that youtube has a tip jar feature. Yes, it is very similar to patreon indeed. However, I was thinking of this being for of an extension than an actual platform. I was inspired by a "full text" link extension for my university library portal, where users are able obtain full essays from any journal sources on the web at the click of a button as long as that same source is present in the university library portal. I was hoping this extension can be a code that allows users to instantly donate to other users without the hassle of signing up for various platforms etc. However, more research definitely has to be done, I understand it is not that simple to simply do away with all the normal procedures in order to protect one's privacy and security.

Darryl Koh Yuan Jie for person-to-person payments it doesn't get any more straightforward than every creator displaying a bitcoin wallet/QR code. In that case all middlemen become obsolete
