Come up with a solution to prevent or significantly reduce respiratory viral diseases in society.
In fact, this is one of the most popular medical problems, making a significant damage to economy. An adult is ill about 6 times a year by 7 days = 42 days a year which makes about 17% of all the working time.
COVID is only one of types of respiratory viral diseases.

Passive nasal irrigation as a daily practice

Shubhankar Kulkarni

What does it mean? Passage of water from one nostril to the nasopharynx to the other nostril, finally leaving the nose.
How is it performed? Example 1 (Hugh Jackman performing nasal irrigation), Example 2.
Why is it performed?
  1. To clean the nasal passage and sinuses.
  2. If you use warm water, it helps decrease the viral replication rate
  3. Reduce inflammation
Visit this session for more information on the effects of nasal irrigation.
Regions that practice nasal irrigation showed a lower incidence of Covid-19 during the first wave.

How efficient is this? Do you have figures?

Mikhail Korsanov We recently conducted a trial in which nasal irrigation did fairly well. I will share a link when we publish it.
Meanwhile, here are figures from other studies.
  1. Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam had very few cases and deaths.
  2. Covid-19 cases and deaths in ASEAN countries.
  3. If you look at deaths/1 million, these countries are not ranked within the first 130 even though they are popular tourist destinations.
Long-term trials on nasal irrigation and its effects on COVID-19 are going on and results are awaited.

Heating the nose when it's cold

Heating the nose when it's cold to increase the chances of our nasal immune defence system protecting us from cold-causing viruses.
Why would it work?
For a long time, people tried to solve the mystery behind an increased number of cold and flu cases during cold weather. Some of the answers included gathering the people in closed unvented spaces and generally weakened immune responses due to cold and harsh weather.
However, recent in vitro findings suggested that warm nasal cells mounted stronger defences against cold-causing coronaviruses and rhinoviruses than those exposed to cooler temperatures .
The mechanism
Nasal cells respond to viruses by triggering the release of extracellular vesicles covered with receptors that the viruses bind to and „filled“ with miR-17 molecule which neutralized viruses by blocking their replication. However, when the temperature was reduced by 5°C (mimicking the real drop that occurs when a personi s subjected to close-to-zero temperatures), the amount of receptors was reduced by 42% and there were less miR-17 molecules.
How could it be done?
  • Face masks, nose-heaters and scarfs - face masks can help you keep warm the same way as scarfs do ; preventing cold from reaching your nose and warmth from escaping the mask makes it a great nose warmer
  • Glasses heating pads - idea will soon be described and linked
  • Small nanoheaters inside the nose - possible idea that will later be described and linked
What do you think?

Vitamin C + polyvitamins + brewer's yeast

The method I use: vitamin C 2-3 g per day + multivitamins + brewer's yeast, 6 tablets per day, accelerates the treatment of respiratory viral diseases, so in most cases I recover in 2 days instead of 7. In addition, taking 1-1.5 g of vitamin C per day (3 doses) in moments of stress and severe fatigue and at an early stage of viral respiratory diseases leads to the cessation of the disease after a few hours or a day.
Why not use some system of early detection of such health conditions for each person and his early indicators to stop diseases at the start?
