Use holograms of predatory animals, humans and large creatures to ward off pests like squirrels, rabbits and rats from the agricultural fields.
According to the food and agricultural organisation (FAO), at least 40% of the total crop is lost to pests every year.
Hologram based pest repellant mechanism can be automated and needs minimal human engagement.
How it works:
(This idea was inspired by Darko’s idea.)
During the peak pest seasons (summers and springs usually), holograms are projected in the fields around the time when pests are most active (early morning and night typically). This can be done based on either cameras, motion sensing or periodic drones that scan the fields for the pests.
This system can be coupled with ultrasonic repellers for more efficiency.
The hologram projectors are installed around the fields. The specifics for their density (in terms of how many holograms to project, say, per 100-meter squares, can be determined.)
