An online platform where creative people log and share their thinking process in real-time as they are trying to come up with ideas.
Public rough drafts of people's thinking sessions. Basically freestyle monologues of how things went.
Why?
From the reader's perspective:
  • Insight into how different people think and arrive at their creative ideas. Learn the skill. Adopt useful aspects to your own creative process.
From the writer's perspective:
  • Get input/feedback from others. This could inspire new ideas.
  • Accountability; show up and perform even when you are feeling lazy.
  • Backup; journaling your thought process in real time saves the minor ideas that could be lost when an overwhelming thought arrives.
  • Focus; journaling your thought process keeps you focused on the task at hand.
  • No need for reviewing/editing before sharing. People expect rough drafts.
How it works
A minimalist, notepad-like editor where you just start writing or drawing out your thinking process. It gets auto-saved as draft. You can start as many concurrent drafts as you want.
Give each draft a title and optional tags so that you or others can easily find it in the future.
All the google docs functionality, like making the drafts public, private or shared with specific people. Allowing people to comment on specific sections (or not).
All the twitter functionality, like every person having a homepage where all their public drafts are listed. People can follow each other and get notified when new stuff is posted.
For the visual thinkers, there could be drawings, post-it notes, chunks of text, anything goes.
