A gamified financial punishment/reward system that encourages a group of people to maintain a streak towards a common goal. Everyone deposits the same amount of money. Anyone who breaks the streak gives some of their deposit to others.
A fun game that encourages friends to keep doing what they promised.
Three-fold incentive: 1. Friendly competition, 2. Lose if you break the chain of action, 3. Win if you can keep it going.
A great way to hold people accountable. Once you feel it in your pocket, you'll step up.
A group of people commits to doing a difficult task daily for a specific amount of time.
Everyone deposits the same amount of money. Divide each person's amount by the number of days the task has to be maintained. This is the daily value.
Anyone who skips a day loses the deposits for all the previous days until the present. The lost money is divided between other group members who keep the task going.
A person who skips a day and loses a partial deposit can still continue the task the next day. By continuing they protect their remaining deposit and potentially win some money back when other group members skip a day.
In which scenarios would such a group contract/game be suitable?
We will go to the gym and work out every day this month
We will come up with and share one idea per day for a year:)
We will meet and study together every day this semester
What are some other suitable scenarios?
