An online platform where random strangers plan each other's day of fun. Each person provides a wishlist limited to 5 words only.
Why?
  • Experience a day through other people's ideas.
  • Step out of your comfort zone.
  • Enjoy yourself in a surprising way.
How it works
  1. Each person defines their age, sex, daily budget, and 5 keywords.
  2. Before going into the "daily mix", each person has to confirm that they are free the next day and willing to live it however the other person plans it out.
  3. The system shows each person the above data from several people that are currently online. They get to like or dislike each data set.
  4. As soon as the first match is made (when both people like each other's data) they are moved to the next stage of the process.
  5. Each person gets a few hours to plan out the other person's following day. Each has to deliver the plan by a specific deadline.
Rules
  • Don't recommend anything you wouldn't recommend to your best friend.
  • Don't put people in danger.
  • Consider people's daily budgets.
Accepting or passing the plan
When presented with the daily plan, each person gets to accept or pass. When someone passes on the plan, the event is sent to a moderator who reviews/decides whether the plan was unreasonable and whether any of the two people deserves a penalty/warning. Each person gets to pass a reasonable plan 3 times before they are barred from participating for a week. If this continues people might get permanently banned.
Mandatory review
At the end of the day, both people are asked to score the plan and fill out a quick review based on a few questions.
Closing chat
After completing the review both people are asked if they would like to have a chat. If yes, the system connects them via the platform's direct messaging.

After every successful plan, the tourist (the person on the day-out) gets to vote the planner. Planners who perform great consistently get a piece of the profits just like Medium. "Day-planners" can then become a career.

There could be a regular plan and a premium plan. A regular plan involves a budget. The premium plan would be something like taking a private jet to Rome to have Italian food. The premium members could be charged a fee and they would be matched with consistently amazing planners.
The fee would help with platform maintenance and paying the amazing planners.

Nice idea! People can also add kilometric distance they are open to travel. Also, maybe add as an option don'ts - for example, no heights, no extreme sports etc. This is to still get people who are a bit scared to try!

Michaela D Even if people opt for no extreme sports or otherwise try to eliminate challenging activities, the planner still has hundreds of options how to get them out of the comfort zone and he/she might push it hard if they want to. E.g. simply stepping on a bench in a busy public avenue and singing a song aloud for some might be more challenging than trying extreme sports.
This is not to say that the planner always has control over the "player" in a bad sense, this is a good thing in my opinion because there has to be a rather strong factor of novelty/challenge in a planned day to make the "game" worth playing.

Great idea! Does the person planning other person's day has to do it according to their wishlist keywords? Or can they ignore it and do this according to what they would prefer for themselves or in any other way that they think would result in a cool day? Having a day planned according to your wishlist might not be that exciting/novel as something totally unexpected.

Povilas S the 5 keyword wishlist is a general guideline of things to consider. I imagine keywords like: kids, dog, single mom, winter
It still gives the day designer a lot of freedom.

I imagine people would list the things they like doing. I would take it as a challenge to navigate around their wishes and still surprise them with an unusual day:)
