Light and matter can be coupled when stationary; in quasi-light-particles called polaritons. Can we use light to transport these polaritons (or pass them on from quanta light packets, much like waves) across large distances?
That way, a person with a radio or a TV or a smart phone can 'download' water even if they are miles away from a water source, or even if all the water sources nearby are exhausted or dried up. Women will no longer need to carry water in pots balanced over their heads across large distances. Transportation of water will become obsolete - so long as we have light, electromagnetic radiation and devices and antennas to receive this radiation.
