There are some mouthpiece brushes with the same general idea but they either suck or are not thorough enough. I propose an implementation that should be efficient.
Why?
  • Clean your teeth more thoroughly and with less effort.
How it works
Instead of the brushes moving via vibration, the proposed implementation would be layered with multiple miniature electric motors.
The entire outer shell of the motors would be layered with soft brushes of different lengths. The shell would rotate around the internal components. These are called outer rotor motors.
Squirt in some toothpaste, place the mouthpiece over your teeth and turn on the motors on for 20 seconds. Voila, clean teeth.

I've been trying to come up with something similar for a while now. I imagined something with UV lights to kill certain bacteria, as well as rotating brushes on the teeth. I just haven't been able to completely conceptualize how the "brushing" of the teeth would work.

I imagine micro-sized outer-rotor electric motors. They can be made in pretty much any size and shape. Even the torque can be increased with miniature gears. If higher torque is necessary, the gears could be placed under the outer shell of the motor, that way the entire housing would rotate along with the brushes on the housing.
