A “shop the look” feature on Netflix for your favourite character from a Netflix show, that links products from various shopping websites for purchase.
Netflix has more than 200 million subscribers worldwide, a large proportion of which are the fashion conscious Millenials and the Gen-Z population. Netflix can make use of their influence on the tech savy population of their subscribers and offer them the option to “shop the look” of their favourite characters from various Netflix shows.
Netflix and other streaming services can tie up with major online shopping websites to offer their customers this service.
Under the “more info” section for any show on Netflix, there could be a “shop the look” tab that could re-direct users to the list of various characters from said show and links to various “looks” inspired by each character. Users could buy the entire look on one click by putting in their size preference or chose to buy one or few items from the look. This tab could also open up automatically after the user completes watching a show to prompt them to browse and buy.
Netflix could also use this feature to sell Netflix official merchandise as well as official merchandise from various shows. (Disney Hotstar can also benefit from this feature greatly).
