A mobile phone feature that reduces the resolution of social media apps to just barely tolerable in order to make them less addictive.
Social media apps are too addictive and consume too much people's time. This feature would make them less pleasant to use.
A feature that you turn on/off from the quick settings menu. When turned on, all addictive social media apps are reduced in resolution quality to barely tolerable.
When you turn the feature off, you can browser social media in high resolution for a minute or two before it starts getting blurry again. As soon as you become trapped, the feature will automatically turn on to remind you of it.
As Povilas S pointed out in the comments - people are unlikely to impose this on themsevels. It could be automated. It could even be mandated by law and built into the platforms in the coming years, to protect kids from tech addiction. So how about this:
The longer you binge-browse a platform, the worse the resolution gets. The longer you stay away, the crispier it gets.
