AI movie generator that creates a full blockbuster movie based on your script or just the plot outline. The quality rivals any top Hollywood movie. This is both a prediction for the future and an idea.
Why?
Everyone becomes their own movie director.
Create blockbuster movies with almost no money.
Create movies starring you and your friends. Everyone potentially becomes a movie star.
How it works
Anyone will be able to create a movie that rivals the best Hollywood blockbusters all from the comfort of their own phones/computers. To create a movie, you would:
Provide the movie script or at least a plot outline with as many details as you can come up with.
Provide a few high-quality images of each person you want to be featured in the movie.
Provide an audio sample of their voice/speech, or better yet, a video of them walking, talking, etc. A longer sample will make the movie character indistinguishable from the real person.
Click "generate" and the AI takes care of the rest. In a few moments, the movie is ready for its premiere.
Real-time editing
As you watch the movie, if you don't like something, just explain what you want to be changed, and resume from that part.
In time, and with many revisions each movie becomes a masterpiece. This is similar to how a comedian's stanup routine improves with each performance. Small bits are improved until the entire routine is hilarious.
Technology that makes it all possible
OpenAI's DALL-E is an artificial intelligence software that creates images based on textual descriptions. Consider it the beginning of a technology that will eventually make this idea possible. Several generations from now, this technology will be able to create original movies with soundtracks and everything else that goes with them.
How does this affect the future?
This could be the end of the movie industry as we know it today. It will be reduced to just creative writers.
Anyone will be able to create their own porn, starring anyone they want, doing anything they want.
You tell AI what topic you would like to learn about, and it produces a movie about it that holds your attention and interest from start to finish. The movie hits a perfect balance between fun and knowledge.

That sounds interesting. I always pictured caricatures or dolls like in Team America playing out your story. That'll be pretty cool. I'd definitely write a script to see how it plays out.

Maybe I'm old fashioned, but I'll rather watch real people act than an AI generated version. So, I disagree that such a technology will replace the movie industry, at least not the live-action movie industry. I do think it's a very good idea for the animation industry, though.
Regardless, I think this technology can be very useful in determining whether a concept has merit or not. Show producers shoot pilots to demonstrate to studios and networks that a film is worth making. This technology can be used to make those pilots instead; hence, saving money for studios.
