The idea is to create graffiti art showing a person in a bomb squad suit and a Tardigrade looking at each other.

Why?

The objective of any art is to elicit emotions. In my opinion, this would succeed in eliciting emotions in people that pass by the graffiti. The kind of emotions and the meaning of this art would be in the eye of the beholder.

Personally, I would read it as:
  • Both are extreme versions of adaptation to the environment. One is protecting the organism from nature, the other is protecting it from the species own absurdities.
  • Funnily similar but different.

Many different suits/protection equipment would fit this scenario. Tardigrades survive various forms of extreme environmental conditions. A person in the picture could wear a spacesuit, a diving suit, a fireman suit, etc. In fact, explosions are perhaps one of the very few things a tardigrade wouldn't survive. But you probably chose that suit, because it closely resembles the appearance of a tardigrade? Some gas mask or a respirator would fit well to mimic the "mouth" of a tardigrade.

There could be one tardigrade on one side vs many people in different suits on the other. That way the art would emphasize that for a human to achieve resilience which this micro animal exhibits naturally would take using different types of extreme environment equipment combined. This would increase the fun element even more.

This could serve as a good cover image for popularising the earthsuit. Just dress the man in the image with a proposed earthsuit design. Various media types could be used to carry the idea of this artwork, not only graffiti paintings. In the case of marketing a specific protection suit, flyers with that image on the cover side and some information on the back seem like a good idea. It could also be displayed as a front-page image of a dedicated website. Maybe instead of an earthsuit such clothing could be called a tardisuit.

Similar artwork could be used to create comic content regarding the corona situation. Having in mind all the protection means we are forced to use for a long time already and that we still don't know when this will end, we are starting to bear some similarities to tardigrades at least in a figurative sense.

However, this should be done delicately to bring the benefit of lifting people's mood through comedy, but not to encourage resistance towards useful protective regulations imposed during this pandemic. The following image is an example of what I have in mind:

There are also similarities between a tardigrade and a doctor/nurse in a full covid protective suit https://www.escardio.org/static-file/Escardio/Medias/education/covid-19/Xiang-Cheng-2_escardio-vPhotoLarge.jpg
