Everyone who is interested in music tends to find local acts that they enjoy, the idea is to create a platform that allows people to be exposed to these artists even when just passing through an area. A music streaming service that only plays you music local to your geolocation.
Algorithms could be written to ensure that you hear the local music that resembles your general taste most first.
This could be a great way for musicians from towns that are further from the epicentres of the music industry to be discovered. It would also be a handy tool for locals to stay up to date with what is going on in their area.
Users could even set the radius they would like to hear music from.
Platforms like Spotify have "local playlists" but they tend to be quite open with their definition of local.

This could be done by designating a specific radio frequency (worldwide) to play only music created by local artists. Every town, village, or area that has any musicians with original songs would loop all of them on repeat. Areas that don't have any would repeat other wider area stations.
That station probably wouldn't appeal to the natives because they would get tired of it. But it would be interesting for anyone passing through.
You could browse the world's music from the comfort of your own home. By dragging a pin on a map, you would discover all kinds of gems.
