A website or an app where you give examples of certain music (type in song name(s), artist(s), link playlists, etc.) and it gives you a list of movies that used that particular music in their soundtracks or suggests you movies with similar soundtracks.
Why?
There are sites that let you discover music through movies, e.g.: 1,2 (they display you the content of a soundtrack of a particular movie), but there are no sites (as far as I know) dedicated exclusively to let you discover movies through music. The second site I linked allows you to find artists whose music was used in certain movies, but not individual songs. If you want to find in which movies a particular song was used you have to go to IMDb and use the advanced search function as described here, although, from experience, that search function is not convenient. In any case, none of those websites have a function to recommend movies that have soundtracks similar to the examples of music that you give.
Music defines the mood of the movie, so if you know a song/artist/playlist that resonates with you at the moment, with the help of this platform you could find movies that would most likely also resonate with you.
How it works:
Recommendation algorithms of various music streaming platforms suggest new music according to your listening history, music that is somewhat similar to what you've listened to before. Combine this with a database of movies and songs used in their soundtracks (IMDb database will work) and you get the result.
You go to the website and type in the search box the name of the song, author, album, or musical genre. You can then choose whether you want to find movies that contain a particular song or songs of a particular artist in their soundtrack or whether you want the platform to recommend you movies with soundtracks that have musical similarities with the example(s) you gave. You can also link playlists from music streaming platforms for the algorithm to have a wider understanding of what type of music you have in mind. It then gives you a list of movies according to your search input.

If you go onto the advanced search on IMDB it allows you to specify "soundtracks", and enter the name of an artist, band or even specific song title. The search result then displays any movies or tv episodes containing references to or music by that artist or band. I know this doesn't have all the capabilities of your proposed platform, and it isn't the most user-friendly way of obtaining the information, but it's a start.
Perhaps your proposed platform can make use of this database, or alternatively, IMDB can improve their platform to include your suggestions. For me, the IMDB search is sufficient, although it did take me a while to figure out that you need to go to the advanced search and change the parameters.

Spook Louw Yes, I know. The novelty of my idea is mainly in the recommendation function, which means that if you enter a specific song or artist in the search window, the platform would be able to not only find movies that have that particular song or songs of some artist in their soundtrack but also recommend you movies with soundtracks that are similar (in a musical sense) to the examples you gave (similarly as music streaming platforms can recommend you similar music based on your search results or listening history). IMDB soundtrack search works by title similarities, not by musical similarities as far as I know.
Another thing regarding the IMDB search - maybe I don't know how to use it properly, but I find it inconvenient when it comes to finding a specific song by a specific artist, it seems to not understand the artist - title format used in song naming. If I type, for example, "The Smashing Pumpkins - Disarm", it gives me a number of scattered, unrelated results. If I type only "Disarm" I can find it quicker, but there might be many songs with the same name if the title is a common word or phrase.

Povilas S The IMDB search is definitely not perfect, I agree that the results can be scattered and it takes work to find what you're looking for.
Another suggestion for your own exploration and that might also help with building the algorithm needed for your proposed platform, is looking at the cast and crew. If you find a movie you like, scroll down to the bottom of the full cast list and you will find the "music by" section. Often, if you liked the soundtrack of one movie, you are likely to also enjoy the other movies by the same music director. The same is usually true of the director, but looking at the filmography of the person in charge of the music has introduced me to some enjoyable movies.
I think IMDB is actually a very comprehensive database as far as the actual information is concerned, their search and suggestion functions that allow you to access the information are slightly lacking.

Spook Louw Great suggestion, thanks! So yes, making the search function a lot more user-friendly and introducing music comparison algorithms present on platforms like YouTube and Spotify are the steps to take for building a proposed platform.
