The idea is to build a product that detects approaching moles and scares them away with vibrations.

The detection would be done via sensitive seismic sensors. The repelling would be done with small vibration motors.

Why?

Protect your garden produce from being uprooted without dropping poison or killing the moles. Protect your lawn and yard from turning into this:

Aparently it is not easy to scare moles away. A small industrial vibrator should work. If it doesn't the scaring module could easily be replaced by something more extreme.

I like the idea, but why do you think vibrations would scare them away? Has anyone tried that, is it backed with some evidence? The idea also reminded me of this old horror movie with an original plot: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0100814/

Povilas S I'm guessing that any animal that has natural predators would flee when something suddenly starts vibrating nearby. For a mole, vibrations can be a sign that a fox is trying to dig it out.
