As a general trend in the current media, Female characters are mostly just a rewrite of existing male ones with forceful feminization. If not that, It's just a recylcle of old ideas. It's not entirely bad though but it's just repettetive and dampens creativity. It's also a ploy by hollywood creatives to play safe and make money reliably so the values of empowerment are kind of a secondary goal and a marketing ploy.
History, There are so many underrated but strong women in the past with the added benefit of diversity without having to force it nor ruining another's creative dream by genderbending or racebending another's idea.
