A review site for freelancers.
Why?
  • People and businesses who want to hire freelancers for their projects will have a place to verify their professionalism and ability to deliver.
How it works?
To use this site is pretty simple:
  • Create a user account on the site
  • Verify your details
  • Prove you worked with the freelancer either by providing an invoice or be invited to review by the freelancer
  • Review their service
I imagine freelancers won't need much motivation to create profiles, especially if the idea catches and potential clients rely on the site to choose who they work with.
Background
Freelancers are an important part of our society today. They exist in every industry, from energy and engineering to marketing and technology. There are numerous freelance platforms, like Upwork and Fiverr, where freelancers abound and where clients can leave reviews after the completion of their projects. However, not every freelancer use or like these platforms. Because of this, there is usually no way to review their services.
This website solves that problem.
See it as Yelp or Glassdoor for freelancers.
What else?
I think such a site can function in two ways: reviews for freelancers who offer services and reviews for people and businesses who patronize these services. Basically, freelancers should be able to leave reviews about what their experiences were like while working with individuals or businesses. This will help other freelancers who are in the process of working with said individuals or businesses to decide whether it's worth it.

I like this platform. I'd suggest that platforms such as Fiverr and Upwork integrate into their, so freelancers can link this your platform idea to their profile.

Specific parameters on Upwork like earnings, "top-rated/ top-rated plus" features, and job success rate do provide an idea about the freelancer to the clients. Are these sufficient to hire a freelancer? Since freelancing gigs are shorter (time-wise), do clients require an extensive background check before hiring?
