Ever wondered where a movie or TV show was filmed? Which was the specific bar, park, city, or even country? This feature, linked directly to the TV show or movie, would let us know exactly that.
Why?
For people who liked a place and would like to visit, for those searching for holiday ideas or are just curious about a location. The feature is easy to implement and will increase the popularity and visits to the featured locations.
How does it work?
1) Streaming platforms like Netflix/HBO Max etc: the information will be accessible through a link at the description page of the movie/show.
“Hogwarts express” ride location: West Coast Railways, Highlands, Scotland
“Café des 2 moulins" (Amélie’s cafe) : 83 rue Lepic, Montmartre, Paris
The description can be accompanied with an image of the location, to make it easier to identify. Not all locations need to be provided, but at least the most basic ones.
2) Movies: locations are indicated right after the closing credits.
This is information that can be found online on a couple of sites (like this, or even IMDB if you know how to look for it) but how many people search or even know about it? If the information was linked directly to the movie, it would be much more accessible.
An interactive screen feature on streaming platforms

Good idea! But since there are a lot of different scenes in one movie and usually many different filming locations, it would be too complicated to convey all the information in text on a separate page, you'd have to name each scene and make sure the viewers understand what you're talking about, the viewers would have to be able to find the scene they have in mind amongst all the titles of different scenes. You could use timestamps for this, but..
It would be best if the viewers could check the info on filming location instantly while watching the movie/TV show. This could be realized on streaming platforms by implementing a specific screen feature, you hover the cursor over the screen while a specific scene is playing, a menu pops up (like usually on streaming platforms), then you move the cursor further over a specific icon, with "i" sign or similar and it indicates country, region, city, street, specific establishment, etc. If the scene was filmed in a studio it could also indicate the location of the studio. This feature could also be implemented into DVDs.

You are right that depending on the film it may be too much to list all locations. This is why producers can have the option to only select a few locations to mention.
The pop-up is a good alternative, but it may feel distracting to some peopole. However, it can be activated by those who don't mind icons. Another adaptation: you click on the (i) icon and that location is saved on your "to see" list which is presented after you are done watching. Like this, you are not distracted by new windows while watching.

Michaela D Yes, but the locations mentioned ( those chosen by producers) might not be the ones that some viewers prefer to check out. It would be best to have an option to check out any location visible in the movie.
"To see later" list is a good idea, but I think if you'd simply press pause and then a tiny pop-up "i" and a single line of text would appear indicating the details about the location visible in the scene it shouldn't be distracting.

Povilas S You could start a whole business model based on this idea, acting as a bridge between the viewers and the movie production staff. You can visit sites before hand and make arrangements with the caretakers of the relevant locations, local hotels and taxi groups. If a viewer likes a filming location all they have to do is click on an icon or scan a provided QR code and they are directed to website where they can book a reservation for a tour or be notified of all open hotels in the area as well as directions and estimated cost.

When I saw the title, I thought it was a program/app that shows you movie locations in real-time. That way, you can watch them shoot the scene and see your favourite actors.

Goran Radanovic that would be another app! It may be a bit complex to get permission and avoid spoilers, though.
