The pursuer has to concisely describe their dream and obstacles. Others can contribute advice, tips, insight, money to help the pursuer get closer to their dreams.

What this platform achieves
Defining your dreams and writing down the requirements increases your chances of finding alternative ways of making them happen. You subconsciously keep working on it in the background.
Putting your dreams in writing and sharing them with the world makes you more accountable to yourself. In a way, it could be seen as a first step.
Seeing other people define their dreams makes you realize that nothing is too crazy, too big, too small. Done with passion, anything can be worthy of someone's full dedication.
Meeting and connecting with others that have similar goals and dreams.
Run into opportunities that put you closer to your dreams.

How it works

Everyone gets a chance to submit their top 3 dreams/desires. Each has to be concisely described and include a section about what the person thinks they need in order to try making it a reality.

If the community manages to provide a person with everything they said they needed, the person has the chance to accept/reject the challenge and document the pursuit as best they can. They can provide the community with updates via a blog, vlog, tweets, whatever. The community that made it possible should get an insight into how the pursuit is going.

The platform would step in to secure any donated funds and keep people accountable. When money is donated, the donors could set the conditions and milestones that the dream pursuer would accept/reject.

The platform would be interesting to the readers because people are mimicking creatures that copy others around us. We are innately curious about what others want and desire so that we could see if we might want it too. To an average reader this platform would be a high signal, low noise repository of people's ultimate desires.

Weekly/monthly progress log available only to the "helpers"

I think a cool add-on to the platform-supported users chasing their dreams would be the obligatory log of their journey once a week/month. 

That way users that funded/helped the dreamer can get updated on its path and enjoy the progress they see. That makes the helper return to the platform to check his dreamer once in a while (entertainment factor) :) Also, if they see the user reached an obstacle/barrier, they can offer help or motivate him/her! 

On the other hand, dreamers can get supported by the helpers along their way, having a higher chance to reach their dreams! Also, it's very useful to track the progress and see if things are going according to plan.

Hi Darko Savic! What is the main difference between crowdfunding platforms and the one you proposed? Could already existing crowdfunding platforms be used in this manner?

Juran which one for example?
kickstarter and similar are meant to fund commercial products / startups
gofundme and similar are meant to help people with problems

What the above idea proposes is not mainly about funding. Sure, funding probably solves the majority of obstacles but there is also insight/guidance offered to people. Also, people that pursue their goals take the public (followers/supporters) along for the ride.

Darko Savic check this one (https://gogetfunding.com/help-eva-make-her-dream-come-true-at-amda-new-york/) on GoGetFunding, for example. There are so many like this. There is even a category/filter called "Personal". As I realized people either ask for help because they are in a bad situation or the money for their dreams to come true.

I agree that a platform where funding is strictly oriented towards the users' dreams coming true would be cool and should have an option to offer physical help or service (along with the funding). The main things to consider are 1) how to avoid people-in-need asking for help (because the needed help is also their dream coming true) and 2) how to make it interesting enough if you are not driven by empathy.

People could be driven by various things:
- seeing similarities between themselves and the asker
- not having the courage but wanting to see someone else try
- being busy but wanting a ride-along in other people's dream-chasing endeavors
- empathy
